It is Sunday evening and I’m just preparing Jensen‘s dinner. Susan says I feed that dog too much, I disagree, tonight‘s he is having surfing and turf. We always have steak leftover from Wednesday night, that is our steak night. Anyway, getting back to Jensen, I sliced some leftover rump steak and topped that with some poached cod, delicately served on a bed of beef chunks, really, is that not what all dogs get?

Being a dog of discerning taste he eats the steak first, then the fish and a few chunks. I do not blame him, you never know what is in those chunks. Tonight he has proved me wrong, he ate all the chunks. I did coat them with a steak sauce made of beef stock, roast garlic and baked tomato. Talking of tomatoes, do you eat the top and tail of a tomato? Jensen loves tomatoes and so I have the tail and he has the top.
Spring is finally here and with it comes the sun. the wind as well and we were walking on the beach today with a hefty breeze blowing, certainly whips up the waves.
It’s been a funny old week first, Alex tested positive for Covid on Saturday. I developed cold symptoms on Tuesday. The first few days were a bit rough but after that, I seem to be getting better. Now all I seem to have is a blocked nose.

Susan says that I have Covid, maybe I do, Covid seems a funny old thing, it can be just a cold and it also can be quite serious. The other twist in this tale is that Michael got back from Wales and was feeling rough, lo and behold, he has Covid. I do believe Alex is a generous and sharing young lad with his viruses. In all fairness, he did not have any symptoms when we saw him last Friday night.
Lady Vivienne is posh, so posh she will not put cheap supermarket petrol in her car. For a lady of her standing in society, can you imagine being seen filling up your car with Tesco labelled unleaded fuel, just not done. I did try and point out that Tesco is a supermarket and as such, does not refine its own fuel but will buy it from a refinery, the likes of Shell and BP. I'm not sure she believed me but when you posh, you posh.
Robert is about to start his new career with the Other. Yep, 60% of us work and pay taxes for the remains 40% who are civil servants. To top it all he is going to work for Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, in short, the taxman. We have lost him to the dark side and can only hope he will see the light. The only glimmer of hope is we have a man on the inside.
I put together this recipe for all those who enjoy broccoli.

Broccoli Mash
Simple dish loaded with flavour. I really enjoy the taste of freshly cooked broccoli, one of the Kings of vegetables. I also look for a different way to cook broccoli, baked with cheese sauce is a very good option but today I want to show you what I did when I overcooked the broccoli.
Ingredients, are very important, without them you have nothing.
1 large broccoli chopped into big pieces - include the stem
1 medium chilli chopped fine
1 tsp Butter
250 ml double cream
150 grams Mozzarella Cheese grated
100 grams Cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to season
Add the broccoli and chopped chilli to boiling water and boil for about 15 minutes. Drain the water and add the butter, cream and Mozzarella cheese and mash, as you would potatoes.
Season well and add to an ovenproof dish and top with the cheddar cheese. Bake for about 15 minutes.

A bit late on reading this but enjoyed it all the same and pleased that everyone is feeling like their normal selves again - must be the mash:)
I'm going to try that Mash tonight!
Brocomash sounds delicious. Hope you feel better soon. 😘❤️❤️
