Bedtime stories with Michael. If you are having trouble sleeping, help is here with Michael’s bedtime stories. He has downloaded the 2018 Sustainability report and turned it into a multi-chapter goodnight bedtime story that will be guaranteed to put you to sleep in no time.
You might not think that Michael has what it takes to send you into slumberland, I asked him about your potential distrust: ‘In all fairness, I feel asleep recording them.’
Please keep in mind it is not recommended to operate a vehicle of any kind while listening to Michael, for obvious reasons. Contact Michael for your box set and he will send you a link, at a small cost, to the download section of his website.

Wild swimming, Susan does it every morning no matter what the weather is or the temperature. There is a lot to be said for swimming in very cold water. Firstly you have to be strong, secondly being addicted to swimming in such cold water does help. I did swim until about a week before Christmas and up until then I really enjoyed it.
Michael, Robert and I take Jenson for a walk and then we have a swim before coming home. That feeling at the end of the walk when you know you are going to swim is exciting. You walk into the cold water, happy, it is like the craziest madness. So cold it is impossible not to want to shout out. You dive in and have to suppress that urge to get straight out, you know you will not be able to stand the cold too long so you enjoy the precious seconds you are under and then surface with a shout. A few more dives knowing that all too soon it will be over and then walk bravely out to the comfort and warmth of the sun, that is if it is shining.
There are different types of cold water swimmers. In our family Susan and Robert are the quiet types when they go in, probably screaming on the inside, I have been known to shout and Michael lets the whole beach know.
You do feel amazing and there are loads of benefits to swimming in cold water. These three are from a book Susan has called ‘Wild Swimming.’ By Flora Jamieson.
Mood Enhancing - swimming in cold water causes your body to release endorphins which reduce the perception of pain and also create a feeling of euphoria.
Keeping Depression at Bay - the effect of cold water is that it triggers the release of dopamine and serotonin, both essential against depression.
Weight loss - swimming in cold water burns more calories as your body works hard to maintain your core temperature. Regular cold water swimming can improve your circulation, the cold water causes your blood to be directed to your vital organs to keep them warm and after your swim, you warm up, your blood is returned to your extremities, which is that tingling afterglow that you experience.

Oh my word. I think I cried when the crazy wild swimmers tried to get me to swim that one New Year’s Day. I got waist deep. There was no euphoria.
