Covid and Wisdom

Yep, it is still around and I have just had my autumn covid booster. Nasty little blighter. The people that count how many people have covid at any given time have just announced that 2.7m people in the UK have covid at the moment. Many out there are deriding the vaccinations and the benefits, there are those who have never been vaccinated, all I can say is, ‘Common sense is a flower that does not grow in every garden.’

Susan has gone off to babysit Alex for the night while Claudia is wine and dined on her birthday. I am getting over my covid jab and have elected to stay at home and watch Movies 24, the Christmas films should be arriving soon, cannot wait. Let me take this opportunity to wish you all Happy viewing of Christmas 24. Robert and Lauren are avid fans.

Just to keep you in the picture, autumnal weather has started to grace our shores. This morning we took to the sea for a swim and could not help noticing that the sea water was warmer than the air temp, yep, 17 deg C, the air a cooler 11 deg C. It makes you think about the prospects of a cooler winter than last year. Hopefully, this will be a kinder winter and I have the courage to swim through Christmas and into the New Year.

Talking of hope and life, do you know why a stone cannot float and a ship can? I was thinking about how life can be dark and deadly, but also full of hope. Think of a rock, throw it in the water and it will only think of the bottom. Think of a boat and it will see the bottom and strive to see the light and not the darkness of the bottom. We are eternally hopeful and as long as we have to strength to fight for the light, we will endure.

Susan was irritated with her foot, quite painful and the doctors are none the wiser. I tried to suggest she takes it a little easy for a while but she did not exactly warm to my suggestion. I now will say ‘Look after yourself, think of those who you love. You are special but not invincible, slow down and let you have a moment to recuperate from your aches and pains, who knows, sleeping in until 8 am might not be so bad.’

I was watching a video of a good friend of mine’s son, William, is his name and he has such talent, but like all people with extraordinary talent comes the other side. I feel for that boy, he has seen some dark times, darker than we mere mortals can imagine. Unfortunately, with that amount of talent, there is a downside. Keep strong Will, we still have faith in you.

Sometimes you have to change because you do not have a choice, now you do, so you should change while you can.

The broken, sad and weaker person you are familiar with, should not be who you are anymore.

You couldn’t stay in that place and ever be happy, so make a choice.

Chose to pick up your broken pieces, figure out who you are and slowly put yourself back together, a better, wiser and stronger you.

I must apologise to the Jewish community as I have just eaten my way through their holy day and forgot to pray.

Yom Kippur is the most sacred day in Judaism and Samaritanism. Primarily centred on atonement and repentance, the day's observances consist of full fasting and ascetic behaviour accompanied by intensive prayer. I failed on all accounts, maybe next year.

To end off. Russell has been an ambassador and active campaigner to save Wildlife. He has never assumed someone else will help. He is one of those unsung heroes we never acknowledge or even try and help. Keep up the excellent work, without people like you, Wildlife will just disappear.
