Herb Pot

ree

Yes, herb pot. Well, we did buy some herbs from Haskins of all places, I only buy my bird feed from that over prices but very nice establishment. On this occasion, we folded and spent the extra money for 3 different herbs for a tenner. Maybe this is a time to reconsider my, maybe rash decision, not to buy anything else from Haskins. Lady Vivienne only buys her plants and petrol from Haskins, the petrol is organic. I see your observant eye has picked up the quality of the plants and the remarkable difference in the month we have had them. Roll on Italian-gate, we have pasta tonight and that fresh hot and spicy oregano, mixed with fresh basil, will round that meatballs cooked in an Italian-inspired tomato sauce beautifully. Is quite amazing they rate the herbs have grown in a month.

We have just had the most amazing weekend, the Queens Platinum Jubilee, no not the band, the monarch. Queen Elizabeth II. My big mate Andrea Bocelli put in a stellar performance and Eddy from Sheehan also contributed at the end. I do wonder why they had rap singers, well not sure if you can call them singers, maybe performers, for the Queen's Jubilee, really, is she into that monotonous words mumbling, our deaf school in Ham-worthy are more in tune. Anyway, moving on from upsetting the do-goody to shoe army, they are normally over 60, no let’s make that 80, too close for comfort. Good on them they need a purpose in life or just an excuse to get out of bed every morning, all the while, waiting to die.

In the grand scheme of life, we did have an eventful weekend, starting with cutting the hedge back by 40cm and now we have a brown hedge. Went swimming with the whole family on Saturday and Sunday, the water is more forgiving now and one does not have to cope with the loss of breath and hyperthermia. On reflection, I probably ate too much and did not have enough wine. There will be another weekend and I am sure I will have the time to catch up.

Talking of wine, with the demise of Blossom Hill, I have found an easy-drinking Merlot from the wine cellars of Barefoot, also a Californian wine and reasonable priced. The family seem to like it as well and that may not be a good thing, less for me!

I digress, my brother, you know the fellow, a gentleman of complete integrity, from Tanzania, that’s the one, anyway, he had a favourite for the night but as I do not subscribe to what’s a my call up, I missed it. I really hope he will comment and include the link. Maybe have subtitles, not sure if we can understand Tanzanian, would love to learn the language, I am sure it is great for everyday life in Tanzania, but on this occasion, we will settle for subtitles.

And yet again I digress, this was all about my youngest son's friend who is a girl, technically a girlfriend, we are buying frocks for Jack’s wedding. We have not been down that route yet but when we do I will blog that event. I am thinking of a bold blue with a statement-making coat by Eponine, the envy of all those who shop at Primark. Suggestions are welcome for what my youngest son’s girlfriend should wear. In all earnest, yes there is an importance of being earnest, she is a jewellery designer and will stun us all on the day.

I shared the sensibilities of those around me and that carries enough acceptance to tolerate the inevitable differences.
