I find it fascinating and uplifting to see some of our nobility, standing firmly behind the downtrodden and those who are on Universal Credit. Lady Vivienne is one of those I have come to admire and love, yesterday she went to a Tesco filling station and almost filled her car with supermarket petrol. I say almost, she did a photo shoot and then went to the nearest Shell Fuel Court and purchased her fuel from there, none of that cheap supermarket fuel for our Lady. Brave effort and thanks for uniting behind those less fortunate.

I find myself at a loss as to where I went wrong. This morning I put all my washing in the washing basket as instructed. This evening, I prepared my normal tasty dinner and then decided to change into something more comfortable. Why? Well, we went to Compton Acres for high tea with Sue and Ted Payne. No, it wasn’t a pain but rather a pleasant afternoon. More on that later.
Where was I? Yes, I decided to change into something more comfortable and to my astonishment, I found all the washing I had put in the washing basket, washed and folded on my bed! What to do now, it does belong in my wardrobe, why on the bed? The mind of She who must be Obeyed, works in wonderful ways and we mere mortals must anticipate what she has wanted us to do in order to progress and prosper. I realised it was an oversight and I took them off her side of the bed and packed them away in the wardrobe. The least I could do given the circumstances or is it menopause?

Talking of menopause, Lady Vivienne has been acting strangely of late. As I said in my last blog - Sweet Potato or Yam? Lady Vivienne has retired. Last weekend she invited Susan and I around for a brunch. Clearly, something was going on, we normally have brunch in Wimborne, watch HarperF singing for his living, he is her minstrel, and then wander around the town to be seen and to see.
We dusted off our ‘going to see Lady Vivienne’ jackets, washed our hands and set off with much anticipation. Once we arrived we realised Lady Vivienne was in a state of acute anxiety, she greeted us at the door in her sleeping attire, looking very fetching in light pink tights and a soft, warm white top with a V-neck. Hair was all over the show, bad hair day but I do believe she had some foundation on and her eyes were highlighted.
Clearly, in need of some comfort, we said how lovely she looked and had she done something with her hair. We brushed over the pink tights, the less said the better. There was no music which led us to believe HarperF was away, Lady Vivienne was left all alone, thankfully she has her most loved friend and companion Susan, who like a knight in shining armour, had come to her rescue. Not a moment too soon.

Lady Vivienne had been to Marks and Spences and acquired the most delicious breakfast ingredients, bacon, sausages, cherry tomatoes on the vine, mushrooms, baked potatoes with a cheese filling and bread. As she had eggs in the pantry, the logical option was to cook the bread in an egg mixture and call it French toast. Roast the sausages and fry the bacon, while oven-baking the mushrooms, potatoes with cheese filling and cherry tomatoes on the vine. For the less fortunate there was sourdough toast on offer with marmalade. What a spread and Lady Vivienne lost no time in enjoying her brunch with boiled coffee, leading to a much brighter disposition. Pity about the eggs, but then we do not know in what strange ways the noble mind works. Excellent brunch and thankfully no sourdough toast to finish it off. The company as always, just right.

I must be eternally grateful to the noble Lady Vivienne, who has shown so much patience to us mere friends from Canford Heath. Lady Vivienne did get hold of me a few days ago and said she had a bone to pick with me.
Lamb, chicken or pork, your choice. I had said in one of my previous blogs that Vicky Compact was her travel agent, well it seems they had fallen out, it is the Ukrainians, no apology is needed as Vicky Compact has texted me and would like to go on record to say she has had an amazing relationship with the Lady Vivienne over the last decade and hopefully this dear, intimate relationship will endure the test of time. Well, who would have guessed, Vicky Compact has spirit, maybe she is seeking the sun.
