Life when!

You know you are getting on when everyone gets so bored when you talk that they go to sleep. One must get to the point when things move on, on in the sense of getting to be that old person who rambles on, boringly so, and then you realise your audience has gone to sleep. That is when you take your life in hand, you are the only person who can live your life, live it before it is too late.

The way you grow older is specific to you. Lifestyle, among other things, can play a role in the process. But some changes in your 70s are universal because they’re the result in what you say and how you say it. Experts sometimes call this “pure aging.” These shifts happen in everyone who lives long enough. You can’t avoid them, but it is important you recognise the signs and work on them to enjoy your life. When you see that vacant look in someone’s eyes as you are talking to them, move on or stop talking. I always find that the conversation ends then and it is worth noting that it never really started for them but only for you.

Enough on old people, there are things to be getting on within my blog. Spring is one of those times that you can really make a difference in how your year will progress. Like pruning that rose bush and loving all the scented roses that blossom in the summer. It is time to start pruning your bad habits and plan your creative spirit into a glorious summer of enjoyment. Live for today, it is the only one you have, plan for tomorrow and let yesterday be just that. No regrets, do it your way.

I am amazed at how the typical Brit reacts. Herd mentality at its worst. The news is all about the war in Ukraine, what does the Pom do, they all head to the filling station to fill their cars up. Next will be panic buying at the supermarket, enough loo paper to last them a year or two, let’s not forget the baked beans and bread. Quite funny really if it was not so stupid.

A product warning that you must read. Blossom Hill. They have decided to blend their wine in Spain and with that goes Spanish wine. Keep away from this new blend, it is just cheap Spanish wine now linked to a very good label. I did question them on the change and they sent me a very good PR email, which said nothing of substance. The crux of the matter is Blossom Hill is now Spanish and not from California, my advice is to give it a miss, maybe the drop in sales will convince them to go back to the original wine from California. The bottle on the left is the new Spanish version and the bottle on the right is the real thing.

Jenson has been a little lost without Susan and Robert but has been behaving himself so I have, after much thought, decided to lift the ban on him farting under the dining room table. Being a Golden Retriever, I have always marvelled at the fact he does not bring the ball back. You can throw what you like, he will pick it up and then drop it in the water and move on. I have tried ‘fetch’, “get the ball’, ‘bring it back, and so on. To no avail. Maybe he is more intelligent than I thought so I will be trying the ‘Retrieve’ command next time I am on the beach.

I have practised this in my head and I will shout ‘Retrieve’ the moment I throw the ball. I will keep you updated on my canine training in the next blog.

I tend to fall asleep before they do. Toilet paper is very important. I remember a time i would load T paper before anything else, without it its a huge problem.

Keep the blog coming, it keeps me in touch with my Mud island family...Lets hope i can see you soon on the island
